About Mrs. Telia Oines
I’m looking forward to starting a new school year with your children! All my teaching experience has been in wonderful Catholic schools and I have dedicated my career to teaching children about loving God and each other, and building academic skills. I attended college at Seattle Pacific University and even did my student teaching right here at Saint John School! I earned my Master’s Degree in Literacy for Special Needs from Seattle University, where I developed more skills and techniques to help all children learn to read and write. I have a deep passion for teaching reading and love all kinds of books. I often visit the Seattle Public Library to supplement our class library. My two daughters, husband and I live in beautiful Edmonds with our adorable Westie terrier.
My goal is to help your child become a life-long learner. I also am committed to sharing God’s love with your child and helping them grow in their faith as your child prepares for their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist this year.
A few of my favorite things:
Places: Lake Chelan and San Juan Islands
Activities: gardening, learning/caring for nature, hiking, jogging, clam digging, singing, playing piano, drinking coffee, baking, family dinnertime and cheering on the Seahawks
Book: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo (children’s), The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (Young Adult) & A Man Called Ove’ by Fredrick Backman (adult)
